Caren Quinn graduated from Saint Lawrence University with a double major in Geology and Fine Arts. She is a native Washington, DC painter whose work juxtaposes mechanical objects with organic colors and forms to challenge our attachments to beliefs.
Using charcoal, oil, and acrylic paint on canvas and found objects, Caren builds surreal abstracts in a painterly portrait style. She has participated in local and national art exhibitions and shows; with Convergence, artdc, Artomatic, and Art Outlet in Washington, DC, and with Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA, and Saint Lawrence University in Canton, NY. In 2009, Caren was honored by Michael Janis, Co-Director of the Washington Glass School, as one of the top ten artists displaying at Artomatic. 1998, Caren received the Cashin Award for Outstanding Senior Artist from Saint Lawrence University. She has painted for 20 years and her work is displayed in private collections across the United States.
